Anesthesia

At BVA we monitor our patients closely to keep them as safe as possible during procedures that require general anesthesia.

Our hospital recommends pre-anesthetic bloodwork to assure the safety of your pet during surgery. Modern gas inhalation anesthesia, along with both respiratory and cardiac monitoring equipment are used to ensure the safety of your pet.

Our doctors and technicians make anesthesia as safe as possible by selecting the best combination of anesthetic drugs for each individual patient. Any patients undergoing anesthesia are highly encouraged to have IV fluids and all pets designated CPR will have an IV port provided for any emergency medicine.
