Dr. Julie Compton
Julie attended Lehigh University, graduating in 1996 with a BA in biology. She completed her DVM degree at Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000, and continued her education by completing a rotating internship at University of Pennsylvania in 2001. Dr. Compton finished a surgical internship in 2002 in Texas, and was accepted into a 4 year residency program at the University of Missouri. There, she completed a Master’s degree in Arthrology and achieved Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2006.
Residing in western Pennsylvania, Dr. Compton has worked in referral private practices for over 16 years. She was the president of the Western Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association for 2 years, helping to bring the local veterinarians together to provide meaningful continuing education to western Pennsylvania. She has successfully trained multiple rotating interns, surgical interns, and surgical residents during her time in private practice. She encourages veterinarians to reach out to her for consultation, both formally and informally, to nurture a team approach for mutual patients.
Dr. Compton enjoys spending her spare time with her 4 children, 2 dogs, and 3 cats. She has a small hop farm, loves to coach and watch her daughter play softball, watch her son run cross country, and experience the outdoors. Her goal at this point in her career is to work together with clients and their primary veterinarians to provide the personalized surgical expertise and experience owners expect, and their beloved family pets deserve.
